BRENDA H. MANLEY, Dvm
As a practicing veterinarian in Eatonton , Ga. for 20 years Dr. Brenda Manley has worked with many patients with skin and allergy issues. She believes there are now so many animals with these problems are due to vaccinations and changes in the dog food industry.
In the process of vaccinating our puppies for preventable puppy hood diseases we challenge or "stress" our young puppies' immune system at a very early time to produce antibodies. This has had some great benefits in that is has assisted in a lower rate of many preventable diseases. However, it has possibly enabled more skin and immune issues to arise in our animals by challenging such an immature immune system, producing an overwhelming response, i.e. allergies or sensitivities to food, fleas and inhaled antigens.
Concurrent with this vaccination increase our pet food suppliers began to eliminate many of the fatty acids, (omega 3 and omega 6) in the drying process. Without supplements such as Healthy Coat our animals are missing out on most of the fatty acids and omegas that aid in the anti-inflammatory process. These also aid in the production of a glossy, healthy coat and assist the body in normal daily functions.
While Healthy Coat may cause gastric upset in some patients, and some may not appreciate the taste right away, issues seen in the beginning only last a few days. They show an over all improvement in skin and coat after 3-4 weeks of administration. They show a glossy coat, absence of flaking, scaling, no itchiness, redness, scales or crusts.
